Hi! Sorry it's taken so long for another update! Thanks so much to everyone who left a message! Nice to know I've not been forgotten and it's great to hear what you guys have been up to!
Lots has happened it the last month although, again, I don't really have time to go into too much detail! Happy and I are thoroughy sick of our taxi rides back to Mooiplaas from Cheshire home though! The buses don't go until they're bursting at the seams which means sometimes we'e waiting hours! Managed to get one quite quickly last night. Got up to offer and old gogo (Grandma) my seat who then pulled me down to sit on her lap! By the end of the journey I think I'd been married off to her only son of 8 children! Least every jouney is different! Though at this rate think I'm promised to half the men in Mooiplaas! Dad better prepare for plenty of cows coming his way!
Been a bit frustrating not being able to get far from Mooiplaas. GX has a strict health & safety regime, which means we're perfectly fine to get lost on mountains in the dark but if we want to go 3 km out of the local township it requires a risk assessment!
Still enjoing Cheshire Home. Have been taking part in their HIV programme called Soul City as well. I seem to have been recruited to do all the posters, which I quite enjoy! Unfortunately I'm not too helpful with the teaching as the kids don't quite understand my brumminess. My swati hasn't improved much and I think Happy has given up translating! So it's all fun and games trying to work out what the resident are telling me! I'm particularly weary of one little old lady Noxola. As sweet as she seems holding my hand when I arrive, she soon has all the items of my bag in her grasps assuming they're all presents for her!
Felicia and I are preparing for our presentation day which is next Friday. The them is nutrition and health and I'm planning to make them all do Jeremy Kyle type role plays on obesity, which will amuse me if nothing else!
Growing very attached to my host sister Lina. Been trying to tackle my Pap induced belly by a few gym sessions in the evening, which Lina is my official motivator for! She's also roped me into joining in with all the choir practices for her Church, which are also quite energetic! Still having a few problems with some of the words so generally I mime and try and copy the dance moves!
Think that's about all I have to say at the mo! Hope everyone is OK! Will be flying back to the UK on the 8th June so will hopefully be in proper contact again in a months time!
Lots of love,
Salani Khale (Stay well)
