Met some great people last night at the hostel (Fabric Hostel). A bunch of guys from Australia and a couple from California. The guy from California spoke fluent Italian. So awesome. We walked around looking for a good place to eat (tourist food sucks, we swear they have two menus, one for the tourist and one for the locals). He asked all these local people and we finally got to the place and it was closed on Monday. He spoke to a guy on the street who said his cousin worked at a restaurant down the street that was really good. He tried to give us directions then gave up and said get in, i'll drive you. There were 9 of us. 2 girls and 7 guys and somehow we fit in this car. Crazy. Funny part was he was driving a Chrysler. Everyone was laughing when all nine of us climbed out of his car. He came in with us to make sure they treated us good. They set us up in the back of the restaurant and gave us a free appertizer. He was so nice, but i'm assuming some well known, well taken care of Italian, driving a nice car that no one has in Italy, in Naples, might be a little connected. You do the math. We all decided to each order a random pizza and we would rotate them. Everyone ate a slice and then we passed to the right. So funny. We also got two pitchers of red wine, which was served cold. Made my day. We made some great friends.
Today we went to Pompeii. We saw the ruins which were huge. I didn't realize how big of a city it was and how crazy it is that it was wiped out in a day. Now we are back at the hostel trying to ecsape the afternoon heat. Last night we got lucky and they put us in a 9 bed dorm room but we were by ourselves. So far today we have two new roomates. The room is actually really nice. It has two floor. (I'll post a picture)

Had more fun with our Aussies haha, had another (ive eaten pizza so much it's coming out of my eyeballs) pizza party then the next day went to Capri. It took us many modes of transportation (walk -- train -- walk -- ferry -- bus -- bus) but we got to Popllita (I might be making up the name). It's near those two famous rocks you always see in postcards. Let's just take a moment to address Italian drivers. They are literally insane. On what is in American one way road, they fit cars parked on the side, and two lanes... with buses. You thought you were going to die. You don't think you can possibly fit between this wall, moped, bus and tree around a curve, but you do. When we got back, Shai (pronounced Shy) decided to cook dinner outside with his little camping stove. We had gnocchi, steak and pesto. What an effort but well worth it. You should have seen us outside the hostel. Someone had to wear a headlamp to shine on the pot the whole time, while Shai cooked.
We decided to do a real load of laundry. Everything is getting so hot and sweaty that it was time. We ussually do a real load (as opposed to throwing it into the shower with us) every few weeks. Of course it took forever so we didn't get to bed till late. Everyone in the hostel was watching Into The Wild. Perfect movie for a hostel full of backpackers. I had never seen it.
We had to get up early to get our train to Piza. It was a long train. 6 hours. I slept the whole way. We got to Pisa and went to the B and B (fancy way of saying hostel) we couldn't get in. Oh well. We went back to the train station and locked our bags then went to see the famous Leaning Tower of Piza. It lean's alright, but thats about it. It's small. I think 8 stories. And that's all there is in Piza. We laid in the grass and watched everyone take weird photos of the tower making it look like they were holding it up. Now we are back at the hostel (oh im sorry B and B) and someone informed us we have to call a number. The lady said she would be here at six. So here i am.
Oh I forgot to address the toilet seat issue. Italians don't have them. Why? Please help me. It makes for a very uncomfortable bathroom situation.

Made it to Cinque Terre. It's so beautiful. I am finally seeing the Italy I pictured. Words can't describe it, you'll just have to visit. It's five small villages built into the side of cliffs on the Riveria. They don't allow cars or museums or anything else touristy (except for the postcard store). You can hike to each village. Tonight we decided to take a leisurely stroll through town. Well, nothing with Matt is leisurely. We ended up on the top of a mountain after climbing through vineyards then forrest with thorns and bugs. Well worth it, but i always have to laugh at where Matt brings me. Back at the hostel, I took my 5 minute time limit shower (really) and am about to crawl in bed. It's so nice out near the ocean. The heat wave broke. Tomorrow Matt's going to hike all day and i'm gonna do some exploring and head to the beach.
