Really tough day today, just as bad as the first! Was feeling a little sorry for myself and had a bit of a cry on my own!! Its hard work! Left son la early this morning for tuan Giao. The morning was ok with some descents and flats, we stopped for lunch at 11.30....boiled eggs, peanut butter and jam sandwiches again! After break for lunch, the afternoon was a killer!!!
We climbed 1300feet to the top of a massive hill, 17km long....it was roasting again and I really struggled! Few more people got on the love bus, but I refuse point blank to get on it, even if I'm savaged by dog!! I tool loads of breaks and was on my own between water breaks, ended up walking small sections until I caught my breathe was so difficult as we were so high! Apparently it's higher than everest!!! The hill took me 3hours to defeat, and I wasn't last!! Rest of the gang were at the top cheering me on as I got to the top. The remainder of the afternoon was great with a long descent down to tuan Giao...the scenery was absolutely spectacular!!!! Breathe taking infact. We had a great moment with the local kids today, they were all running down the street to see us and thought it was hilarious when we tool their photos and then showed them it! It was so surreal.
The sights and sounds are really cool, seeing the ladies at the side of the road with a pick axe in hand, breaking up stones, to the ladies and men in the field with buffalo cultivating their rice paddies!!
Back to hotel just before 5, tonights is pretty basic, but it has running water which is he main thing!!! All the showers here are shower rooms with no enclosure! Treat in store tomorrow night, the hotel has laundry and a swimming pool!!!!
Quick shower then meeting at 7 for short bus ride to local restaurant.
So tired today, so looking forward to bed, even though it's a bit manky!!!

Mum It is bringing tears to my eyes reading all this Susan. I am so pleased you are enjoying the experience albiet you are struggling and suffering. We are all so fortunate in the Western world and take all our home comforts for granted.
