Arrived this morning with a deep haze over the city with tall buildings barely visible. We discovered that it was the result of a recent sandstorm and would only clear after a good rain.
I choose a tour into two neighboring emerites, Ajman and Sharjah. Two very fine museums were visited. One was the creation of a large number of buildings in which were life size diaramas depicting craftsmen and daily life in earlier times. Very nicely presented a clean. We visited the Museum of Islamic Civilization in Sharjah and viewed a science section containing many inventions attributed to Islam including compasses, scales, sextants among other items.
We stopped at the Al Arsah Souk for shopping among many items and antiques.
In the evening, after arriving back at the ship, the World Cruise participants were taken to the 123rd floor of Burj Khalifa, world's tallest building for cocktails and nibbles. The view was spectacular although the haze hindered perfect sights from that height.
All in all a very interesting day.
