Sorry for those who are waiting in anticipation for another great blog entry, this won't be it, i have 9 minutes left on my time card and the syracuse computer lab has the worst hours known to human kind.
Anyways, I just felt that it was necessary to share with you the day/night I had yesterday. It actually began alright, toured the city as usual, blah blah blah...I had recieved a phone call from the Milano airport telling me that my long lost backpack had officially arrived in Florence, and that it should be delivered to me by "tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest". I had high hopes, considering that they had called me, not the other way around. So after the tour, we were supposed to meet as a group to walk up to Piazza Michaelangelo for what was supposed to be the most breath-taking and most famous view of the city. Well of course I wanted to ruch back to my hotel before meeting with the group, with much confidence that my bag would be waiting there for me, at which point I could grab my beautiful new camera (contained in said bag) and run on up that mountain. Of course my life is not that easy! Needless to say my bag never did show up. Thanks to my wonderful mother, I was able to go pick up my bag from the Florence airport, even though the lost and found was closed for the day --- now here's where it gets ridiculous --- since the lost and found office was closed for the day, I was simply instruceted to find the door leading into the office and "ring the bell three times, they'll know it's you" at which point I would be led into this mafia-esque lost and found department, which I assumed was a secret society founded in order to kidnap unsuspecting young travelers who only wish to recieve all of their luggage and sell them into slavery. At least that's what I was afraid was going to happen...haha nothing that dramatic actually did fortunately for me but unfortunately for the story. Long story short, I got my bag finally, had an adventure on the way, and learned a valuable lesson -- always carry on!!!
