Happy days in CA! What have I done since last blog? hmmm.. I got a motorbike ride up a hill/mountain called Mt Diablo, with a great panoramic view over San Francisco and area around. It was really nice and sunny outside, a perfect day to relish California from the seat of a Harley Davidson! Friday night, we went to a Baseball game, I had never watched baseball before in my entire life, so I had to learn the basic rules during the game, but I really enjoyed it! I quickly learned that eating peanuts and big hot dogs is part of the experience:) After the game, we could walk down to the field and watch some spectacular fireworks! Saturday we drove south to the area around Santa Cruz. First we went looking for some big trees in a red wood park, I felt really small staring up along the huge stem of trees thousand years old! After that we stopped to check out the famous Mystery Spot, which is a place where the laws of physics and gravity do not apply and the show a number of demonstrations to support these claims. Phenomena demonstrated by the tour guides included two people standing on opposite sides of a level surface who appear to change height as they switch positions and a ball that appears to roll up a plank.. Dizzy from the confusing gravity and fascinated by the strange phenomena, we continued to the last stop for the day Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Its an amusement park by the beach, the oldest in California. I was quite inexperienced with roller coasters and such, but after a couple of rides I wasn't tooo afraid any more and could enjoy the wildest ones :) It had been a goood long day, and it ended in a traditional fashion with good fast food before heading back home to San Ramon. We all got up at 5am Sunday morning to pack the car with sleeping bags and such, cause we were aiming for Yosemite National Park! After 3 hours of driving east into the country, we arrived in Yosemite Valley. Even though it was cloudy and a bit rainy, the mountains were able to give an impressive welcome! We stopped by some stunning waterfalls and looked around at the tourist information center before checking into our tent cabins! We were hoping to get some good hikes that day.. but the rain started pouring down, and the clouds were lying thick in the mountains.. So there wasn't much more to do than stay in the lounge by the fireplace and read a book or play with our phones.. Later on we had some dinner and went to bed early, hoping we would be able to do some hikes early in the morning! Next morning the sky was a bit more clear, and we were able to hike up to some nice waterfalls:-) On my way down i twisted my ankle! It was not so bad that I could not get down the trail, but sore enough to rather do some straight walking in the valley instead of anymore steep hikes.. But we got some nice views from the valley as well, even spotted a couple of deers close to the trail:) After that it started raining a bit again, so we called it the day and started heading back again! After just half an hour on the road it actually started snowing! It was all white outside for a while.. Quite different from the beach in Santa Cruz the day before where girls were walking in bikini! After that I fell asleep in the car and woke up a little while before we stopped at an In and Out for some burgers. Now I'm just lying in my bed punching my new computer half a sleep.. should get some sleep veeeery soon! Tomorrow i will go see golden gate bridge and some more fun stuff downtown SF! Good night :-)
