Summer 2013
We started Tuesday in Nuremberg. We stayed at a hotel in the older part of the city. This morning we took the trolley to an area that Hitler used as a Nazi Party Rally Grounds. Most our time was spent in the museum called the Nazi Documentation Center. The museum is built into the remains of the Congress Hall, a structure that was never completed, but which was planned to hold 50,000 people. We did not get to see the courtroom where the Nuremberg Trials were held, it was closed, but the museum had a section devoted to that. Then we returned to the "Old City" of Nuremberg. We left there about 4:00 and took the back roads to Salzburg, where we plan to spend at least 2 days. We will not be going to Rothenberg.
