The theme parks here are massive. Think about Gold Reef City ten times bigger. Both Disney and Universal have an open area before you enter the actual theme parks. The open areas are free to enter, are full of restaurants, clubs and shops selling souvenirs. Tickets are linked to fingerprints so be careful if you ever go and try to buy tickets with unused days.
As soon as you enter Islands of Adventure, you see the Hulk roller coaster. It is massive. The wait time was 100 minutes but after 20 minutes of waiting I learnt about single rider lines which move a lot quicker so I waited 45 minutes in total for an exhilarating ride. We have nothing to compare to this in SA. The Harry Potter rides were also great, and the village was amazing in the way it looks like the movie and the atmosphere created. All in all, a great day!
Took 1 hour 40 minutes to get to the park in the morning using a shuttle from the hotel to the premium outlet mall. Then waited 30 minutes for the I-Ride Trolley, a bus service. A long bus ride takes you close to the park. Then it's a 20 minute walk from the bus stop to the park. If you ever go, make sure your hotel has shuttles to the park. Taxis are expensive!
