Decided to be brave and took a train ride over an hour long to see the USS Iowa in Long Island. Train does most of the journey overland so you get to see the suburbs. LA does not seem to be a very affluent city, but then again area next to the tacks are never the best. It reminded of the Greyville area in Lenz. Plots and houses are bigger here but the general run down feel reminded me of Greyville.
When I got to Long Island, I could not find the Iowa. Instead I saw the Queen Mary cruise ship which is permanently docked here and is a tourist attraction. There is a Russian submarine next to it captured during the Cold War. The Queen Mary is massive and bigger than the one I went on. I found out the Iowa was about 5 miles away in San Pedro. I was not keen to wait for the bus to take me there so I took the train back to Downtown LA.
I then walked about 10 blocks (15 minutes) to a laundromat and did laundry.
That night I went to Universal Studios Hollywood CityWalk. I did not go into theme park as,they were advertising the same rides I had done in Orlando.
