How much stuff do 2 greying Hippies & a dog need?
Sarah's spent a frustrating day getting not much done & we decided to leave the job of trying to get the safe to lock to lovely Bobby! As much as we like to think we are independent girls, there are times when we have to admit how feeble & girley we are & ask a bloke for help.....poor Bobby is usually that bloke! Although we have to give HUGE credit to Jonti for the fabulous box on the back which will be, primarily, a dogfood bin, as we have to take 3 months worth of dog food for our sensitive (but very butch) boxer dog 'Drum'.
The ever lengthening list of gadgets includes: portable solar panel (not much use in Wales but sure to be great in Europe)! Thermal cooking pot (what a fantastic idea, you start off you meal on the stove & then put it in the thermos all day while you travel, when you get to where you're going 5-6 hrs later, your meal is cooked....saves gas too). Ether alert alarm (well we don't want to be gased in our sleep)! The most amazing,if basic, portable toilet which folds up like a folding stool (no pun intended)! And even better, (if we ever get the hang of using it without wettin our pants), the 'Shewee' (no more bare bums...wee standing up, like a man)! Endless maps, camping books etc and a Sat Nav that tells you where to go in Ozzie Osbourn's voice (including expletives)!
So, the plan is that we spend April touring the UK. Europe has to wait until after 7th May coz Drum's passport isn't valid for him to return to the UK until then and we don't want to risk having to put him in quarantine for 6 months if something went wrong in the first few weeks in Europe. Visiting friends & family for a few days then heading for The Lake District..........
