Hi Everyone,
We are now in Hamilton about 80miles south of Auckland staying with Tony and Lee for a few days. They have made us feel very much at home. It was just like we had only seen each other recently. We went back to the places that we used to live in Cambridge. We were very disappointed to find that both houses had been knocked down. We heard that this was due to some scousers wrecking the place some years before!. Apparently they left hub caps everywhere! Never paid the bills etc
Off exploring today and the weather is superb. Will try and upload a photo or two later.

Hi Everyone,
We arrived at Auckland airport just before midnight. We both felt a bit emotional to come back on Kiwi soil after 34 years. The country, the weather and the people have all been amazing. Having left the very dry hot central Australia it was great to see the green countryside of NZ with the temperatures in the mid 20's. So sorry that it is so cold in the uk. It would be fantastic if we were all out here together.
Staying in a lovely Motel in the Bay of Islands overlooking the sea. Guess who went fishing today? What a fantastic trip. It was only just a little over 30 quid, with all bait, rods and gutting and filleting of the fish done by the skipper. He even puts the bait on the hook for you to save you getting your hands messed up! Ther were 5 people on the boat and the skipper said that it was the best mornings fishing he had for some time. We caught so many fish it was amazing. Snapper weighing 10,11 and 12 lb each. Wait until you see the photos Steve. Wish that you blokes had been here to share it. Mum wants me to tell you that she is really happy to. She caught....up on her washing! Guess what we are having for dinner? On our way around the island tomorrow. Speak to you all soon.

Hi
Glad to hear that you're having a fabulous time. We got your postcard yesterday and noted the temperatures of 30 +. Please spare a thought for those of us in the not so sunny UK whilst it's snowing a blinder and the central heating broke down yesterday. Despite Gareth's best efforts (still here at 9.30pm last night) we were all somewhat chilly in Papilio overnight!! Darren actually slept in a bobble hat all night long!! but don't tell anyone!! Onwards and upwards Gareth is coming back this morning to have another go. Yippee.
Hope NZ is all you want it to be and more but don't get too attached! Just remember to come home again. Miss you lots
Big hugs D A M E xx

Hello Everyone,
Sorry, can't send any photos...boy have we tried! Did the sundown and sunrise bit at Uluru. Never taken as many photos of a rock in all my life. Sitting on a picnic chair in a car park at 5.30am with hundreds of others waiting for it to change colour..quite bizzar. It was reeeeally hot at Ayres Rock and Kings Canyon. Now heading for NZ where it should be much fresher. In fact there is a cyclone heading that way. Never mind , Sue has packed everything for every occasion, I am sure there will be wellies and anything else that we need in the case...y the weight of the blinkin things. By the time that we get home I will have arms like a gorilla. We will post another message from NZ.
Love to everyone

Come on now - we are waiting for pictures.... We are stranded in Holland due to fog, so we are finding things to do to while away a few hours! We were due to fly home today, straight into London to see a show, then on to Germany on Wednesday, but all the best plans... as they say! We should get home later today but have to fly to Dublin then back to Stanstead. We should get in around midnight, having missted Dirty Dancing!! And Fed Up to boot!! Don't ever come to Holland - very damp and flat!! Have fun and get those photos on the gallery! XXX

watch out for the wallaroos; they get everywhere. and for lunch, a slice of Galah pie followed by some nice juicy Galah melon.
Give my regards to Uluru (not that we've met)

Hello Everyone,
Thanks again for all of the messges. Final day in Sydney before we set off for Ayres Rock tomorrow morning. We have had another super day. We went to the Fish Market...yes the Fish Market!. Quite amazing. We then went on a Sydney Harbour Cruise. ...Excellant. Slightly red in the face though now (a little bit like the lobsters in the market). I am sure that it will settle down overnight, ready for the 40+degrees at Ayres Rock. Then we went on to the Rock area of Sydney ...more touristy bits. Speak to you all soon.
