Glacier as thick as the Eiffel tower is tall so there's no chance of this ice cracking. Travelled out on the specialized ice vehicle with Tyres measuring 5 feet tall and costing £50,000 each. Traveling south again now not sure where we are stopping tonight.

This is what this morning brought, just like winter wonderland. The area was pretty enough without snow but this is just magical. Met our first bull Elk but he was quite calm really. Heading off down the Icefields Parkway later after we've had a look round Jasper. Will it be like Sheffield Parkway?

Arrived in jasper today, staying at the foot of Edith Cavell Mountain.?What a change of climate we have had snow since about 50 km from Jasper. Have seen Kayote and Elk. There's an Elk warning out as its the rutting season and the bulls are very aggressive at the moment. The scenery has become even more spectacular with mountains all around. The lakes are blue/green due to the glacier silt.

Just stopped overnight travelled through such a variety on countryside today from flat farming and flower fields, to prairie, mountains, lakes and rivers. Saw a skunk today but still no grizzlies. Should arrive at Jasper tomorrow. Time to light the campfire and break out the wine. Just like the guides- well perhaps not the wine bit.

Just boarded ferry to start our trip to Calgary via the Rockies. Up this morning at 5.45am what a shock to the system that was. Watched a beautiful sunset over the Pacific Ocean last night.
