Wow - has it really been a week since I posted an update? Time flies when you're, erm, having fun!

No, the last week has been alot more enjoyable than the first! Travelling for a few days with a guy I met in jaipur was good, we did the camel safari together and had a great laugh! It was great to be out of the city, cooking on fires, and sleeping in Wood huts. Dont get e wrong, we could still hear the road, but there was a welcome tranquility about being in the desert....

Jaisalmer as a small city is alot more bearable. Then, Jodphur, although bigger and pretty non-descript, was also ok. The fort was impressive, presenting the standard indian view over the city and photo opportunity. The market was also very lively, some interesting sights and smells!

Then it was to agra and the taj mahal, via a 15hour mad coach journey. I had a sleeper cabin - for this imagine a luggage rack with a matress! Suprisingly good amount of sleep tho.

The taj is obviously very impressive and I took photo after photo (that's right I still have my camera ;) ) I guess it's pretty expectable that there is alot of obvious poverty immediately around the Taj with the stallowners and beggers really raising their game to make every last rupee.

This afternoon i'm off to Amritsar to see the golden temple. Having been used to 20-odd degrees so far, I think it's going to be a little colder up there. It certainly will be when I head on to Dharamsala which is further north, towards the foothills of the himalayas. Time to wrap up warm! Then its Christmas in Singapore after I successfully changed my flight :D Can't wait!
