I had a surprise call for interview on Monday for another role at IBM that is only 3 months and working in the events / communication team, love the sound of this.I got on well with the lady interviewing me she was happy that I could start ASAP as she needed someone yesterday and that I had events experience so didn't need to be directed all the time and could hit the ground running, to me she was indicating that she would like me to start but had 2 other people to interview, I may have been wrong and completely desperate!
You guessed it….. According to the recruitment advisor at the agency she loved me but the person she offered the job to had come from Mercedes Benz and she thought she would be more used to talking to the New York office "it was a tough decision but you were just piped to the post" L Piss off!!!
To say I have had enough now is a serious understatement, we have been applying for jobs since we got here over a month ago averaging about 30 per day for me and still no better off, I know these things don't happen fast but when you have nobody contacting you and keep getting the same replies "after much consideration we regret to inform you that your application has been unsuccessful….." I have become to think that I really must have so little to offer these people.
Steve's can only sit out for his ARTC decision and has had no luck on the job front either so we have made a decision to go and take part in Help Exchange which is where you go and stay with a host family and help them in exchange for accommodation and food, the work usually consists of 4-6 hrs a day, doing anything from gardening and housework to feeding animals and generally any help that they may need. We had considered fruit picking but the rain hasn't stopped since Saturday 27th Feb and all the fields are water logged and can't be worked.
We've signed up now and gone through prospective places that we like the look of and have a call round tomorrow. At least we have a plan now and can get a bit of sanity back.
