Wow this place is beautiful there are no words to describe it We woke up and it was already blazing hot out side not a cloud in the sky. We headed outside and around the corner for breakfast not to many people speak English here so it makes things interesting. After some nutrition we headed for the promenade and took in everything Nice had to offer, dipped our feet in the ocean, saw some boobs etc. We booked a 45 minute mini train tour which took us around the old town and up to the castle with a marvelous view of Nice and the harbor just amazing. We've been a lot of hot places but nothing like this,with all the old buildings nicely renovated all the palm trees the turquoise waters the markets make this place a must. We met up with Don and Marylene and they took us to Villefranche which is a suburb of Nice also on the water. we enjoyed a sangria at the edge of the water in the harbor by this time my shoulders were starting to take on a pink color. We also went up the mountain to a few look outs truly amazing. We made our way to the old town to have some drinks and also dinner. After a few Despardos and lovely meal things started to heat up in town to celebrate the first day of summer. Before we knew it we were in the middle of the largest street party of the year no joke there was a different live band every block. The streets were jam packed. I've never been in anything like it. At some points it was like trying to walk through a crowd at a concert. We made our way with our gelato to the promenade where it was equally as busy. There were more bands and people on the rock beaches. We parted ways with don and Tara and I continued down the promande back to the hotel to rest up for our beach day tomorrow. If your ever thinking of visiting Europe let me tell you something, never make eye contact with anyone when your walking or driving because you'll never get anywhere. And also let go of your Canadian manners cause nice guys don't get anywhere either, it's a very me me me place. Your personal bubble or air space does not exist here people will cut in front of you as well as let a door slam in your face as if you weren't even there. If you hold a door open for some one there whole family will enter and not even look at you or say a thing
