I just walked by this bridge this morning! Yeah! So Jessie and I decided that our trip to Milan was a way for the traveling gods to make us appreciate the greatness of our past and future destinations. We are in much better spirits as you may be able to tell.
We left Milan, toured the lovely town of Pisa and saw the Leaning Tower, then hopped on the train again to Florence, arriving last night. We got a recommendation for a great campsite here and so we crosssed our fingers for a spot- And got one! I never thought I'd be camping in Italy, but they have these great yurt-like tents, with no electricity or heat of course, but they are supppper clean and comfortable and Jessie and I finally can hear ourselves think and not worry about our belongings at the hands of 10 other random people. We were going to stay 3 nights, but it looks like we're going to stay for 4 because it's so cheap and it's right up there as our best accomodation yet. I was listening to the rain beat down on the tent last night and thought to myself, I am totally in Oregon right now, there's no way I could be in Italy. It was great to find something to transport me back home in an instant.
I spent most of the morning coming up with my three day itinerary, down to when I'd find time to do laundry, because Florence is stuffed full of statues and museums and lovely photographic moments. More to come!
