A day of general maintenance around the house and of course lots of eating and drinking as well as watching the tennis. The Deacon's neighbours came over for a drink on their way to the local pub. An executive decision was made after the tennis that we would make the trek to the pub. Differing opinions from Chrissie and Rick as to the length of the walk, ranging from 20 mins to 1 hr. unfortunately Rick was right ,53 mins and 2.97 MILES! A decent walk just for a drink. Biggest problem was thinking of walk home in the dark and uphill. Funny little establishment in small village and even had entertainment in the form of a lady singing??? And playing the piano accordion, my brother mark would have loved it. Got a lift home with Ian and Lesley with Stephen in the smelly doggy back and Chrissie trying to plug her seatbelt into a hair dryer! A very funny ride home with Ian maybe not quite fit to drive, as we noticed when he missed the turn off and has lived there for 7 years! Eventually made it home safe and couldn't stop laughing. One for the memories.
