Ok so right now Im pretty tipsy after corrupting an innocent board game with the polish alcohol called Soplica. But I will try and tell you about my day. I should also warn you that I am using a Czech keyboard to type this so excuse any errors...
Basically we did a lot of sightseeing today. Yesterday we arrived in Prague around 6pm after a horrific bus ride. However Prague felt sooo nice and tropical compared to Warsaw. It was like 4c which is amazing. We were really lucky to be picked up by a Czech friend of mine who I met in New Zealand as I was her university mentor. She also lived with a New Zealand girl, who is currently doing some Europe travel and therefore is with us too.
Firslty we went back to my friends house to drop of our stuff. Afterwards we headed to a restaurant to check out the local cuisine. Unfortunately vegetarian options are scare in Czech cuisine, and therefore my options were limited to some fried cheese. My Czech friend told me it was like schnitzel, so I thought ok I will give it a go... It was actually a lot thicker than schnitzel and Im pretty sure I consumed an entire block of edam cheese covered in fried batter. But ooohhmyyygoddd if you turn a blind eye to the ridiculous amount of calories, it is a beautiful, beautiful thing. So that was definitely a pleasant surprise. However it meant that I had to spend the rest of the evening laying down.
Today we did some typical sightseieng. My friend took us on a long, personal walking tour. I think Prague can be described in two words, "old" and "beautiful". It was a delicious change from Warsaw as all the buildings were beautifully old and theres a really nice medieval feel to the city. Some of the places were visited included..
1. Charles Bridge. Which was covered in lots of awesome looking statues
2. Town Hall. Which you can pay to go up. It was just a few dollars and it meant we got a stunning view. Something I noticed is that a lot of the rooftops are the same colour which gives the city a weirdly nice mediterranean feel... For me anyway
3. St. Vitus Cathedral. Holy crap this place was so stunning it was insane. I thought that after seeing the cathedrals and churches in Rome and the Vatican City, every one after would look average. But nope. I was very wrong... This place was meeeental.
4. Prague Castle. This complex was HUGE, and also included the cathedral. Pretty!
5. Lennon Wall. I dont actually know the significance of the wall yet, I really need to google it, but apparently its an important aspect of the Velvet Revolution. Its a big wall covered in awesome graffiti.
Of course we saw more but these are the ones that stand out during my Soplica clouded state of mind.
We also visited another Czech friend of mine called Tereza. One of the first things she said to us is that she still misses New Zealand every day, which reminded me and Matt of how lucky we are to be returning to the most beautiful country in the world in less than one month. Tereza, I also forgot to tell you that you looked absolutely stunning today!
We decided to go eat lunch at a restaurant. Once again the veggie options were limited so I ended up having a small dish of couscous and roasted veggies. Matt had half a duck! In order to compensate for my small dish I thought I would be a big girl and have a litre of beer! Such a mistake because I have never been so full in my life!!!
In the evening our friends went to watch the ballet but Matt and I decided to go for a nice walk and then get some dinner from a restaurant recommended by a family member of Matts. The restaurant is called Duplex and it is on a rooftop of a building in Venceslav Square. It was really nice and flash and a delicious treat by Matts mam!! I had a tasty salad, Matt had a seafood risotto, and we treated ourselves to a Cosmo cocktail and Jack Daniels with Coke, then a cheeky dessert of hot chocolate cake and cheesecake with ice cream.
Afterwards we went for a nice walk outside the restaurant rooftop which over looked the square. We met our friends out front around 30 minutes later and then headed home.
Now we are playing various board games and drinking cherry Soplica out of our Peruvian shot glass! Miss our Polish friends already xx
Guys please remember to leave a little comment... Its nice knowing who is reading this!

Tereza Hi! I am happy I could spend at least some time with both of you. However, I am very sorry I did not manage to have free all days long. I am glad that you enjoyed your time in Prague. Thank you for the compliment;) And hopefully see you once again, this time in Dunedin :) Tereza
