Day 64,65 and 67
So I have decided to do 2 blogs for Da nang as we have been on My Khe beach since we arrived (a beach destination in Da nang) and tomorrow we are going to a different hotel right in the city centre for our final 2 nights in Da nang. Thought it would be easier and less confusing to write 2 blogs (one for each place as I think it will feel like 2 different places!)
The weather here has been really hot and humid but cloudy not sunny! We have enjoyed being so close to the beach though as it's much quieter and we have been able to do some nice walks along the promenade in peace! The Vietnamese here do not speak very good English though which is annoying (then I have to remember we are in their country lol) for example when we went out for tea on Tuesday one of the menu pages was titled 'Dishes with rice' and the first option was 'boiled egg' so I thought hmm that would be slimming world friendly if its just some steamed rice with boiled eggs so i double checked with the waiter and said 'does this come with rice?' And pointed at the boiled egg option - she replied 'yes'... 10 minutes later she brings out a small bowl with 1 boiled egg in (still in the shell!) that was a yummy tea! NOT! Haha
On Tuesday we walked along the promenade to the marble mountains which is a cluster of five marble and limestone hills named after the five elements: Kim (metal), Thuy (water), Moc (wood), Hoa (fire) and Tho (earth). All of the mountains have cave entrances and numerous tunnels, and we were able to climb to the summit of The (water) mountain. There were Buddhist sanctuaries within the mountains which were beautiful! (Got most of that of Wikipedia incase you didn't notice!) lol
Our accommodation has been nice here (even though there are no Christmas decorations!) and we have enjoyed relaxing and catching up on the laundry! Tomorrow we head to da nang city centre where we can visit the night markets, Han river and the dragon bridge which we will be Fun! Our hotel is also REALLY nice and we are down the road from a shopping mall (yippie!!!). We are there for 2 nights and travel to Ho Chi Minh city on Sunday morning!
I will do another blog on Saturday night with pics from the city and I'll post the pics from the last couple of days (bar hoi an) now!
Missing you all loads! Xxxxx
