hiya i was supposed to go on to my next placement yesterday but have decided to stay here in tena for another month instead. saw my first tarantula the other night on the outside of my bedroom wall! the last few days have been really hot so have spent a lot of time in the river. went to a new beach yesterday and was absolutely eaten alive by mosquitos! i`ve only had a couple of bites since i arrived and i havent been using repellent, until i put on the 100%deet...

i think the kids were given a talking to as they were as good as gold yesterday! today they were playing up until a man (the gardener??) pulled little kevin out of the class and smacked him! livio had a box of matches in class and was constantly trying to set fire to things! anyway have got to go. steph x

hiya just thought i'd tell you a bit about the house and town where i'm staying. I'm staying with a couple called Bilma and Raul who have three children (aged 15,12 and 2) however there are always the nieces and nephews around so always loads of kids running about! hola! had a surprise day off so went canyoning yesterday (and thats canyoning, not canoeing mispelt as mum thought!) it was so much fun! we climbed and trekked through the rainforest and then came back down through the canyon and the waterfalls running through it. it was a combination of climbing, abseiling, zip line, wading and we also had to do a couple of jumps into the depths of the unknown (the helpful guide expained where to aim in order to miss the rocks...
