Not a lot to say today. tom left yesterday and got home safely today. Sad to see him go, but i guess proper people with proper jobs can't afford the time to bum around like us unemployed-travel-scum!! went on a walking tour today (free!!) guided by myself!! Perhaps slightly less informative than if i'd paid for one, but interesting neverthless!! Saw lots of temples - too many temples - sick of them!! Think i might have to buy a book on buddhism to understand the significance of them because to me they all look the same!! Fat gold man in twinkly box!! (impressive to look at though) saw lots of markets: thieves market - where they sell "2nd hand" stuff. they're called that because they used to sell dodgy stuff, but i'm not convinced they've reformed!! They sell lots of things that go missing when you travel - eg. sunglasses (see the photo) and also loads of shoes!! I reckon they steal them from outside the temples when tourists are visiting them! Very suspcious!! Fortunately, my shoes are so skanky that i can hardly bare to touch them, so they're in no danger of going missing! food market - lots of dried fish!! It stinks, can't imagine anything nice you could make out of it! Amulet market - where they buy all the trinkets they present to the shrines. went on a ferry across the river - just to see what it was like - not very exciting. and booked a river trip for sunday to houses on sticks and a dessert making village -mmmmmmmm.......... hopefully going to a flower market tomorrow!
