survived the caving and kayaking today and also went in a cave in a tube - very amusing!! and quite cold.
Didn't get far with the caving - they have a very strange perception of what a flat walkway means!! I checked a number of times before booking the caving that it was a show cave and did not involve any climbing (obviously a broken arm makes climbing very difficult) anyway - the cave was definitely not a show cave and after about 15mins i refused to go any further, knowing that the risk of breaking the other amr was quite high and that this would be extremely inconvenient! So claire and i left the walking cave (claire didn't like the dark either - good plan going to a cave claire!!)
after that we had a great lunch which involved bbq kebabs!! then we walked to the wet cave where we tubed and then we walked to the river and spent a few hours kayaking back. We managed to capsise in some rapids - not the greatest experience, but i managed to keep my arm mostly dry - my hair drier is a life saver!!
going back to Vientiane tomorrow for the full moon, to go to the fireworks ending the religious festival.
