After a little look at the entry before i find that i have not kept this thing up to date at all sufficiently! So when I last wrote in I was apparently in Sydney, now we cant be having that especially since ive moved round a great deal since then!
The first stop after Sydney was to a small place, at the bottom of Australia, near the outback, where the men all have beards and the women are no damsels in distress, but could in fact arm wrestle you to the ground for a pint of carlton withour breaking a sweat! Here we found ourselves visiting Gemmas uncle Jimmy, after being told in no uncertain terms by travallers not to head to Adealide we thought we may stay 2-3 days...all in all we were having a great time and stayed 9 days. Unc Jimmy took us to the pub quiz, the pub in general and made sure there was plenty of drink in the fridge to keep us sure we were not lacking the aussie style by being sober for more than a day. Adeliade although it was small we had a brilliant time, we wandered around the city, headed to the beach resort of Glenelg, met many of Jimmys girlfriends...he was like the casonnova of Hallet cove! We had to make sure we called them by the correct names, one was Janet and one was Jenny, now that could just get confusing so I had to decide not to call them by the name but just made sure i got eye contact first before beginning a converstation. Headed to his friends place for a good old BBQ where we tried Kangaroo, have to say was really good, bit like lamb, nowhere taste like chicken!
So upon leaving Jimmy to his bachelor pad, i was in fact really sad to be leaving there but figured we must move one we headed to the bright lights of Melbourne. Been here for 5 days, met a great group of people in the dorm and have not done much but chilled out oh and got burnt, stupid me! Now I have big white square eyes from my sunglasses and had a red painful face, thankyou its calmed down now and its looking none to bad, the cheeks still give away that ive been burnt.
When we first arrived the dorm was really unsociable but now everyone is a laugh, even the miserable french guy who wouldnt talk to anyone is smiling and saying hello. The two kiwis are hittng the alcohol hardcore and also trying to look for a job, which impresses me that they can drink til 4 and get up at 9am. The mad swedish girl...bless. She is so hyper its funny to watch, she now has a job but keeps bursting into tears through tiredness. Shes m,eant to be moving in with miserable French guy but he stopped talking to her, so mother Steve in our dorm is going to poull her aside and tell her to follow her heart, which leads to Fernando in Sydney! Gosh it all happens in room 113. The French guy who still wont really talk actually smiled the other day...could be through embarressment though. Stever, Gems and myself had been to Neighbours night and had become quite merry in that time, Steve almost high off the fact he met Paul Robinson! So in we stumble to find a guy in his boxers thinking he has a bed in our room, whilst French guy was trying to show him the door, saying things like (in french accent) theres isss no bed for you here, there is nooo bed, go away! Eventually French guy took him downstairs and got him his room key for him, by which time we were all in hysterics! So as you can see, we have a very sociable dorm and lots of laughs so all is good fun! Booking tours today, the great Oceaan Road and hopefully a ten day tour for when we head up the East coast.
