We got up earlish and went to look around the local market which we heard was meant to be a big one. after finding the cheapest parking (first place (casino) was $11 then we got 2hours for $6) we found out that it was shut and they were working on the building. brilliant. so the $6 lastest us 4minutes! from there we headed to Rotorua, or smelly town! it was the place were theres lots of natural thermal activity and it stinks of sulpher (rotten eggs!) We checked into our hostel and then went to a local pub as we had a voucher where a glass of wine was $1. we then went to another pub for tea as we had another voucher where we could get 2 main meals and 2 glasses of wine for $20. Lou had venison and i had a scotch fillet. We should have spent about $80 but we only spent $22!! barry-argin! We then went on a walk that had been suggested to us looking at the thermal pools. they were pretty cool seeing how they had all formed natually and it was intresting how bits of ground were sectioned off as steam was coming thru and that would then fall thru and turn into a pool!! At the end of the walk we reached a spa were we went in. there were 7 different pools ranging from 36degs - 42degs. It was really nice, especially looking out over the lake whilst relaxing in 40degs of warmth! The 42drg pool was too hot and we only lasted about 10mins!! We then ventured back to the hostel and climbed into bed.
