Sad to say goodbye to Amboise, but everything must come to an end, Miles returned the rental car, Kyra and Rory raided the shops for some more baguettes, cheese and meat for the train trip. We caught a taxi to the train station and caught the train close to midday for 2 hours to the big smoke of Paris.
Upon arrival at the train station, a taxi ride across town pointing out all the various sites, the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Place de la Concorde and Notre Dame. Busy traffic and very pleased Claire seems to have given up on her idea of a bike ride in Paris - I think someone may have died in the process.
A quick freshen up and then a long walk from our hotel near the Arc de Triomphe, down the Champs Elysees, up to the Louvre, where we made a lightning raid on L'Orangerie, an Impressionist gallery and the home of Monet's Water Lillies. Very inspiring, and another tick off Miles' list of 'to dos' in this trip.
We taxied back again to freshen up before a very lovely meal at the restaurant across the road would you believe! I think I hit the jackpot with the lamb shank, but all felt very satisfied with their first meal in Paris.

Weaze Great photo - guessing you're on the Champs Elysees (rather than another 'avenue' leading up to Arc de Triomphe - you all look so happy and relaxed (but Rich - what are you doing with a mobile in your hand when you have passers by to watch!!!). W xo
