Hello,
So much has happened since my last blog i don't know where to start!
So the train journey from sapa to hanoi was crazy basically its a 10 hour journy so i paid for a sleeper cabin but when i arrived at the train i was right in carrage number one which is a hard seat with about 70 people crammed into a carrage! i was the only western person in the cabin which was an experience as all the vietamese people wanted to practise there english on me. they were all really nice and helped me with my bags, brought me beers and we had a laugh. about an hour into the journy the music came on and all the vietamese people were singing backstreet boys and spice girl and vengaboys it was sooo funny. i managed to fall asleep for about an hour and when i woke up there was 4 guys tickeling my noise. so overall i thought the train journy was going to be terrible but turned out to be a laugh. i finally arrived in hanoi at 6am and had a few hours kip then went walked around the city, went to a prison museam which was rubbish! but killed some time. Then the night day i cought a flight back to bangkok.
i arrived in Bangkok on the 31st october. Halloween and omg it was crazy here im staying on the kho san road which is abit like zante in greece full of bars and clubs. but zante on a busy night was no way near as busy as it was here you couldnt move down the road, i walked out of my hostel and was stuck going nowhere for 5 minutes. everyone was dressed up the thai prostitutes had a field day as all the tourists were off there faces! So that night i went out for a few drinks and met some people from australia who were all very nice.
The following day on the first i spent time shopping and booked a ticket to ko chang, a small island near cambodia. In the evening i had the wierdest night of my life so first i was sat in a bar just relaxing, i was planning on having an early night as i had to wake up at 7 the next day to go to ko chang. Then this german guy who was really drunk and from the moment i saw him i thought to myself ahhh he looks creepy he was old about mid 40s and he came and sat on my table and talked to me. i had no idea what he was saying but he asked if i wanted to join his table. at first i said no about 4 times. And then i insisted i went and sat with him. there was other girls around the table and few other blokes so i thought ok i can just talked to them. I went and sat down and they were all talking some wierd language and non of them said hello to me. so i felt abit out of place. Then the drunk german guy kept pulling my seat close to him, and i kept moving my seat back. this went on for about 5 minutes and each time he moved my chair i said no then i got really annoyed as he was really wierd and annoying so i scanned the bar to see who i can see to rescue me. i found some people and i said to the german bloke ohh my friends are over there BYE and then he grabbed me and tried to kiss me yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk but he got a slap before anything happened and i ran over to these other blokes who looked normal and spoke english!!! In the end the blokes i ran over to were really nice one from canada, one from england...bristol and one from ireland. i told them about the crazy german bloke and they said i can sit with them. So we started of playing pool then the for some reason me and the canadian bloke decided we wanted to see a bangkok famous ping pong show!! so we found other people to go with. a couple from england and a few girls and we got a tuk tuk to nana plaza which i think is the most seedy place in the whole of the world. In thailand everywhere you look there is old men with young thai girls but this place we went to was realllly old 70/80 year olds with girls aged 16/20 it was horrible. And they just grabbed girls on the street.
So we sat in this one bar having a few drinks and i felt something hit my back and i turned around and there was a elephant! in the middle of a busy town! it could only happen in thailand! so that was the first wierd thing that happened. then we went to a ping pong show which omg was just wierd. nothing nice about it. if your not sure what a ping pong show is type it up on google! inside this bar there was only about 8 people and one of them was Tom a guy i met in bangkok the first time round and i met him in Loas. so wierd where you meet people in this place. So it turned out that Tom was also going to Ko Chang in the morning and he was on the same bus as me!
So i had about 2 hours sleep and the next day i got up and set of to Ko Chang. I was told the journey would liek 5 hours and of course that was a lie and it took about 10! when we arrived in Ko Chang i was gobssmacked the place was amazing really like a little island of paradise. i found a little bamboo hut on the beach which was very basic. had a piece of wood with a thing matress/blanket for a bed. The toilets and shower were shared. Which usally im fine with but this shower was not like any other shower basically it was a stone bath filled with water. which must have been there for weeks. and it smelt really bad! and you get a scope (the same water and scope you use to do the toilet!) and you throw the water over you. The water had floating bugs in it and it was horrible! The hut was only 100b a night which is about one pound 20 a night so you paid for what you got!
Ko Chang was absolutly amazing though. the beaches the people, the food the bars everything was great it was also not to touristy or populated so was nice just to relax on the beach for a few days. we got a moped out and drove around the whole island and looked for some smaller beaches. we also went to a waterfull and saw some elephants whilst driving along the road. I went elephant trecking in Ko Chang which was great! saw lots of monkeys and spiders and the elephants were really cute and did lots of little tricks. we bathed them and fed them. was great fun.
I stayed in Ko chang for about 4 days then i came back to bangkok which is where i am now! in the last couple of days i have been to china towns, seen more temples and tomorrow i plan on going to Tiger Temple then on friday i am going to head down south to a town called hua hin then further down south to the islands!!
Omg i nearly missed out writing about my bug eating experience. so last night a few people i met went back home and we stayed up drinking before there flight and decided to go and buy a plate full of different bugs, we ate gress hoppers, leches, maggots, cockroaches, flying ants and they all tasted really nice! the maggots and grass hoppers were my favourite the cockroaches tasted abit like soil and dirt. So i was impressed with myself for eating them!
