Well we are finally in Loas and OMG this place is fantastic! (i will probably say that about everywhere but it really is heaven!) We arrived...3 days ago i think they days here seem like years! but we caught an over night train from Bangkok to vietienne. The jouney was funny me and stacey werent able to stay in sleepers because they were fully booked so we had a long 12 hour journey in seats. At first we didnt realise that the seats were allocated so we walked along to the end of the train which was 3rd class. The seats were rock hard people were begging for money and it really smelt. so we thought omg oh well its all an experience. then luckerly stacey realised each seat had a number on it so we cheacked out tickets and we were meant to be 2 couches behind! so we got off and found our seats and thank god we did! the ones we had booked were second class and the seat were reclining so we were able to relax and lean back in them with lots of space and all the thai people were smilling and saying hello instead of asking for money! so we were happy! the jouney was 12 hours and it was incredable the sights i got to see. but i did wake up with an incredable tan of squashed bugs all over me!! it was horrible.
So for our fist night we stayed in vietienne which was ok not a great place to stay as there is not much going on and not very many backpackers. But we went to one of the markets and walked around the city and booked our coach journey for the next day. The following day we caught a coach to vaingvein which is a fantastic place. The couch jouney itself was really impressive it took about 4 hours and was all up in the mountains and seeing how the loa people leave is really facinating. They have no electricity, no water they live in small bamboo huts which are falling down but the people never stop smillling they are so nice, helpfull they love saying hello and welcoming you with a massive smile which i will never forget. in the small villages their livestock is walking all over the roads there massive bulls, chickens, u name it its there and children as young as 6-10 are hurting up the animals, making fires on the road and its really amazing to see. When we arrived in Vaingvein it was so great to see so many backpackers although the loas people are amazing here its fun as we have made so many friends, i even met a girl last night who went to my primary, secondary school and she lives down chesnut avenue! was crazy! but fun. Yesterday was our first full day in vaing vein and it was the best so far on our trip! we went tubing down the river for 4k and basically there is loads of bars and you go down the river on your ring and people from bars throw bamboo sticks out and pull you into the bars. Have lots to drink and if your brave enough you can jump of the bar into the river! (i was to much of a wimp todo it but stacey had a go!)
So overall we are having a great time here and really enjoying ourselfs we are planning to stay in vaingvein for another 4 days as we need to sort out of visa for vietnam then we are going to go further up north to larange propang (no idea how to say it!) So hopefully that will be just as much fun!
Oh i forgot to say me and stacey have rented a small hut made of bamboo which is right on the river! (mosquito heavon) but it is amazing we have a balcany with a hammock over the river and a big double bed with a mosquito net thank god. a big bathroom all for 1pound a night!! althought there is one slight problem that the gaps are huge between the walls and the ceiling so i think tonight we will be sharing our hut with even more lizards but its all great fun.
cant seem to add any photos today on snapfish but i have added them on face book so take a look xxxxxxxxxxx
