To wake at 3am, with some lasting effects of the mammoth journey just undertaken and then take a quick glance out the window to the calm and peaceful coastline of East Weymss, the iron lamp posts along the beach giving off a soft orange glow, the cargo ships are coming and going from Edinburgh which is lite up with lights across the river..... You quickly forget how tired you are!
We spent the day with Andrew (grand dad) walking along the coastline of the River Forth starting at the remains of MacDuff Castle (Shakespeare's version - who did exist), along mystical forest paths (where you would expect Pixies to buzz around the entwined tree trunks) and along past West Wemyss Castle sitting 20 meters above us (which was the residence of Lady Wemyss). Lady Wemyss was the cousin of the Queen Mother and this resulted in trips by the Queen mother for summer breaks - so I am told :). Beautifully sitting on the coastline with majestic views over the Forth across to Edinburgh. It's wonderful charm and meters of ivy spilling over the rocks edge - captivating.
We continued on past the castle to the village for lunch and then a long walk home..great day :).
