Just returned from our 3 day trek in the jungle and it was superb although we all stink so bad and Adam's t-shirt has basically melted from all the sweat and dirt, he has worn it all 3 days, top effort. You may also notice something different about Adam in the photos in that he has no hair!! This is thanks to John whose barber skills at blending in were not too good, either that or he just wanted to stitch Ads up, you guess which is right!! Anyways, the trek was so good, we had some pretty tough hills to climb and had to cross rivers on small logs. Luckily only Ads fell over (twice!) however Wilbo nearly lost his trainers in quicksand to the amusement of everyone else! We had to sleep in small villages and the first night we only got about 1hr sleep cos there was the biggest thunderstorm i have ever seen which along with dogs fighting, didnt make for a good nights sleep. The second night was only slightly quieter with a roaring waterfall in the background, which made for a great shower! Our guide, who we nicknamed Frodo, was a legend and taught us some jungle tips that Ray Mears would be jealous of! The final day we rode elephants and Ads had to ride it bareback around the neck, so he was holding on to Dave and John for his life as it pushed him into every available obstacle, made us laugh! The trip finale was bamboo rafting down rapids, we managed to stand up the whole way and didnt fall in (Eugene, you will appreciate the pics from this!) Back in Chang Mai now and its shower, s***, shave and massage....cant wait!
