DO IT TO IT
so we're in amsterdam right now. I don't really like it that much. I don't know why. it just feels kinda dirty... they have these public urinals for men, right in the open. like in the middle of a public square. I guess it makes sense for the city to put them there, to stop public urination on the street, but it's still gross.
anyhow. we went to the anne frank house today which was, I don't want to say fun... but um educational! yeah, that's the word.
last night we went to see a concert by dj tiesto. I'm not a fan of electronica or whatever it's called but since I dragged nat to two girls aloud concerts I had to go to this. ehh... not my cup of tea. the lights were really cool and tiesto himself was actually pretty good. but what made it unbearable was the 2 hour + set by another dj team before the main guy. it's all the same. and it's endless! really heavy bass beat. slow it down a little, cut if off, slowly crescendo, and the beat comes back and it starts all over again. ugh. I retreated to the third level by myself where they had seats while the others stayed on the floor. I would've fallen asleep had it not been for the thumping bass rocking my body. and the constant chain smoking by everybody around me.
our last day in paris we went to stay with our french relatives, which was actually really fun. they're super into karaoke like true asians and they kept trying to get us to sing, but you know that will never ever happen. we managed to escape with minimal gifts to lug back to the US, only after announcing and insisting that they not send much back though. there's a bunch of young cousins all the same age, around 17. and the motto of the night from the adults was "speak english!" trying to get their kids to talk to us. I tried to teach them poker, but that lasted only about 5 minutes. and then they taught me what was basically uno, but they call it "crazy americans."
oh, and we won 91 euros playing blackjack! pretty awesome for our first real foray into legal gambling. we actually just found two smart chinese ladies and bet on their hands. but hey, whatever works!
k, we're in the red light district but I haven't seen any ladies dancing in the window yet, so I'mma look for that!
