Our last night in New York was a good one! We went out with the guy from our hostel room - an Irish guy called Mike, we went downtown to a few clubs that were recommended to us but they were very hip hop so we moved to our 3rd one of the night which was a pretty good indie night! We then travelled for 2 hours on the subway up and down and ended up back where we started then deciding to get a taxi back as it was 5am!
Our train journey to Boston was not that great as we had had hardly any sleep and were just a tad hungover! We arrived in Boston about 3.30pm and were met by Jonathan and Barbara (our cousin). We got in the car and drove back to the Manchester area where they live and went out for tea. We then decided, all five of us, to go play crazy golf.
Carol- I will admit that I wasn't that great at the golf (rubbish in fact!) but classic line of the night was Liz's "well Carol is definitely last and then it'll be either me or Matt but I'm pretty confident I'm 3rd" and she was joint last with me! We're still taking the piss and it was like bowling in Preston with mum all over again! (only mum might understand that!)
Well so after the game of golf (where i was robbed) we went and had some ice cream - there is so much choice for everything, i think there must have been 60+ flavours to choose from. We then headed back to Jonathan and Barbara's house where they attempted to explain the rules of baseball to us ready for the next day!
Saturday morning we headed out for breakfast at Cracker Barrel, for a traditional American breakfast where again there was so much choice - it was so hard to decide how we wanted our eggs cooked nevermind what we were having with them!
We went into Manchester and went to the baseball match between the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and the Portland Sea Dogs. After a rainy start we were very lucky to get the entire game in. It was a really good afternoon and baseball is our new favourite sport! The New Hampshire Fisher Cats won the match 12-5. We then headed back home via Goody Coles to get some southern American bbq- it was so good- there wasn't much food left at the end! We watched Harry Potter when we got in!
Sunday we got up and left to go to Boston via Cracker Barrel again for breakfast. We arrived in Boston around 1.30pm ready for our duck tour at 2pm. The duck tour consisted of a half land half water tour of Boston which was really interesting- especially the part when some woman crashed into the side of our duck! (we all survived so don't worry- it wasn't bad at all- you know how i like to exaggerate!!) We had a look around the marina and Faneuil Hall market place and went for tea in an Italian.
We left Jonathan and Barbara at the train station in Boston around 9pm ready for our train to Toronto via New York.
We'd like to say on behalf of the 3 of us a massive thank you to Jonathan & Barbara for looking after us so well and showing us all the sights of Boston. We had a really good time and hope to see the both of you very soon.
We'll update our Toronto blog soon so keep the messages coming - it is really good to hear from everyone. Keep news and gossip coming too as we are very out of touch with everything that is going on back home- including the apprentice and home and away and hollyoaks (michelle is doing a great job of that!!)
Love Liz and Carol

Ivan / That's really nice of you guys to daotne a couple of games for charity. I wish I could pitch in, though I doubt it would reach them. Praying is pretty much the best thing I can do right now.
