After 8 months since I booked the flights, the day finally came! The day that I would be leaving the UK with the possibility of leaving for good! It's been an adventurous 27 years for sure. The weekend prior to the flight saw a lot if goodbyes, from good friends to work colleagues and close family and those far away.
I met up with Sean and Luci and everyone was in joyous mood. We all spent some time with our loved ones and the waving goodbye was Quite emotional. For some reason it still hadn't dawned on me that I would soon be 7000 miles away in the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, and as I write this we are a mere 90 minutes from landing!
As you'd expect when travelling things happen that goes against the grain... already Sean dropped some cheese from his meal, forgot about it, and now his shoe has changed colour! Also I must admit to being a tad disappointed to have resorted to eating a mcdonalds in Dubai!! There simple wasn't any local cuisine and the airport just felt like the Bullring at Birmingham, nevertheless it was a nice looking place!!
Well by the time I have posted this, we should have arrive at the airport hotel ready to catch our next flight to Krabi where we shall be spending the next 4 days island hopping to places where James Bond and The Beach movies were filmed... ...(edit) have now arrived in Krabi! the food is ridiculously cheap water is 10-15p a bottle meals around £1.50. Can really see the works of Gods creation here, the landscape is simply breath-taking! Will be meeting with some other backpackers later and we will be hiring some mopeds tomorrow to ride around some sights before taking a loagtail boat around Railay Beach for a £5 day out!
