Woke at 9.15 ish and straight downstairs for coffee and breakfast: banana pancakes & pineapple juice for kids, Thai rice soup for adults. L washed clothes, while D arranged trip to elephant village.
Car arrived to pick us up at 12.40 for 20 min journey up and down steep hills and hairpin bends. Disembarked, and were swiftly instructed to follow the elephant, as we were going for a swim! Walked down to the river, stripped down to our swimming costumes, and jumped into the river with the elephants! After the swim, rode bare back, back to the centre for delicious fresh pineapple snack, before getting on a two-seater elephant (one for the boys, one for the girls!), for an hour long trek through the jungle. Saw rubber trees (harvesting latex), various types of butterfly, melon and banana trees, and a huge spider!
M ended up on the head of her elephant, driving, whilst the handler took photos! After the ride, fed bananas to the elephants, by hand, before journey back to the bungalow.
Straight into the sea to cool down! Played on the beach for an hour before a shower, change of clothes, and tea. Beautiful sunset.
