Sadly I have no pictures from today but I will try my best to describe it with words!
At 10 I was woken up by the sun rays coming in through the open door. I had some porridge and for the first time sat down and did some Portuguese.
Dylan and I went to a cafe and walked a long way down the promenade. It was nice to see the beach again.
Back at the hostel I went for a long swim in the pool and had some lunch.
At 4 I said bye to my new friends and then took the tram to the centre to get going to Valencia.
Arriving in Valencia was strange because I've been here before with 4 friends but this I was alone. I think a lot of people who travel alone get the feeling of apprehension but also excitement when you arrive in the city and the hostel for the first time because you have no idea what you're going to find or who you're going to meet.
I bought some food and made some vegetable rice for dinner. Near the end of my dinner 2 kiwis and 2 Americans sat near me, so I joined them. Then another American girl joined us and when I went up to the room to get something I found another 2 American guys and invited them to join us. So I went from no friends to 7! We went out for a drink and sat at a typical Spanish bar on the pavement. Agua de Valencia was a drink one of the kiwis had heard of and wanted to try. We ordered a couple of jugs and it was nice- orange juice (from the oranges of Valencia), alcohol and sugar.
It was a really great evening and 5 of us are going to do a bike tour tomorrow.

Daf Wow you really are making friends from all around the world. Apprehension is good it keeps you safe. Zoe says valencia is nice xx
Caryn Your day sound as if they are more about relaxing and meeting people now. Sounds like it's all working out - well done. Is there a reason for brushing up on Portuguese? Have you decided that Portugal is part of your travel plans? xxx
Laura Yep I am thinking about going to Portugal for the last part of my travels!
