Matt and Ant's Travels
Today was a pretty cool day. We went and bought all ou vegetables and from the local market ad food from a very basic shop (actually that was yesterday I forgot) We actually went to the fish market and bought about 7 really big fish not sure but probably snapper for under 5 pounds. Lennie the woman at the hostel then dropped us all (about 15 of us from all different hostels) down at a hotel called the good samaritan which as a beautiful beach nd the water is over lovely coral reefs spreading for miles around. We were really luck that the weather was good all day and so we sat around playing cards eating drinking and being merry. It was a lovely little stretch of beach which for this main island is a rarity. We spent the whole day there and managed to see the hump backed whales swimming around about half a km off shore. It is a great thing to see them in the wild performing all those tricks that we saw them doing in captivity. Toni came to pick us up and we decided to do a Kava night. Kava is a local drink made from the roots of the Kava tree and has a strange effect on the mind. We all sat around the table as Toni went through the ritual and all tried it. Everyone else seemed to like it but I took one sip and gagged so decided it wasnt for me but sayed and watched as the others all enjoyed the night. Its quite a strange drink and apparently makes you feel slightly drunk even though there is no alcohol in it. It turned out to be a good night
