Ola Amigos!
Thanks for the updates! Sounds like great progress with the house Vic! I wont recognise it when I return with your wonderful decorating talents, but glad it is all getting sorted. You should be resting on your week off though! Ooh I hope you all enjoy your trip to the Midlands; I'm sure soph will play a good hostess! I see Ipswich managed a draw at Sheffield Wednesday- 6 games without a loss is promising and good to see Williams scoring in his first game back. Good luck to the Witches too.
As for me, I had a relatively pain free bus journey from La Paz to Sucre. It was, in theory, the nicest bus yet as the seat reclined fully and the foot rests come up so you could lay completely flat! However, it was a bit old and so my seat refused to stay flat and kept bouncing over the bumps and creaking. But I managed to sleep for much of the 12 hour journey! Arriving in Sucre I got a taxi to the hostel recommended by the kiwis and was able to check in. It is a nice hostel, with lots going on, a good breakfast and good location. I dumped my stuff and headed to the Sucre Spanish school where I enrolled for 5 4-hour lessons beginning that afternoon! The city has a lovely feel to it- it is full of the colonial style buildings and considerably smaller and less bustling and threatening feeling than La Paz. It is hard to believe it is the capital city as there is little to do here other than the Spanish schools. I walked around the main square and then headed to the recommended vege restaurant 2 minutes from the hostel! It did not disappoint and I enjoyed a hearty vegetable soup and then bulgar wheat and beetroot burgers with cheesy quinoa and veg and banana and choc cake, all for 4 pound- slightly more than I'd like, but it was all I ate all day.
I headed to my Spanish lesson, which didn't start well. They'd forgotten to tell the teacher. So I had to wait an hour until another teacher was free. But my 4 hour lesson went well. I was introduced to things I didn't even know in English, such as my possessive adjectives, conjugating verbs and possessive pronouns. We went over pronounciation a little and focussed a lot on the grammar and feminine and masculine articles, etc. It was quite intense and a lot like being at school with the teacher writing on the whiteboard and giving me worksheets and making me read from a kids book and roleplay shopping. I come away at 7.30pm a bit brain fried. I walked back to the hostel and was pretty exhausted so I had a reasonably early night.
Wednesday
Enjoyed the breakfast with plenty of fruit! Chatted to a couple of girls also here studying, then I sat revising and doing my homework when who should appear but Harriet! I'm surprised she has been here for a week now as she hasn't done Spanish school and there is little else, but she has got friendly with lots of people staying here for the spanish school and so has just been chilling and socialising with them. They were all joking about how she is never going to leave as she has been talking about getting a bus for days, but it is nice she has got comfortable and she is still trying to bring forward her flight home. I spent the rest of the morning revising and I have finally got round to booking the Inca Trail for January- a great way to finish my trip! Also booked my bus for Uyini for Sunday morning, as my Spanish lessons finish Saturday evening.

Grandad and Maggie Hi Alex - thurs 2nd - Grandad has gone off to help auntie Vic with her wardrobes - i think he might be gone some time as i'm sure they have a major project on their hands but knowing those two they wont be beaten! I stayed home this time as i have things to do but have stopped for a coffee and a catch up with your blog. What an amazing time you are having, sounds like a film script, Crocodiles,Anacondas ,Piranas OMG!! - who needs Bear Grylls when we have you! Its lovely that you are having such a great time and also great to hear you are feeling so well. I'm going to get Mum or AV to show me the pics as we're not on facebook. Keep up the Spanish lessons - Spanish vocabulary is hard (I gave up) but it will be worth it in the end. Enjoy Sucre - love and hugs xx
Paul I have enough trouble with English so 4 hours of Spanish sounds like sheer hell! My twin (Adam) did the inca Trail a few years ago and he still talks about it (if only I could shut him up!). Just having a coffee and stuff in Starbucks, total cost £8.55 - I think if anyone was seen coming it was me! Take care, Alex.
Auntie vic Good afternoon from the lady who now has wardrobes again!!!!!!! Oh my Lordy they are fab I actually stroke them like a pet. Grandad was amazing I was in awe of him. I literally had about 13 million pieces of wood and no instructions. I kid you not he didn't even looked fazed and said right lets have a look at them. I kid you not within five minutes it was layed out on the floor ready to be put together. If grandad went on the krypton factor he would be champion. Anyway it was a sight to see not maybe like the sights your seeing but to me it was paradise. Will defo show you the pics Maggie. Anyway this won't get my wardrobes filled. See ya later adventurer. Ps Paul apparently there's a cafe in the 99p shop, I'm not sure what you get for 99p. Also you didn't tell us about your walk? Oh and one last thing no signs of any visitors on monty today!!!! Love you xxxxxx
Paul Did 4 walks in 4 days, Auntie Vic. Hellish weather on day one (storm force winds and driving rain on top), bad weather on day two (gale force winds and rain on a dangerous ridge) necessitated a quick scree descent (the best bit of scree to run down I've found since I was in Uzbekistan), half decent weather on day three, and a lovely day to finish. On the last day we had to cross a river leaping from wet rock to wet rock (scary) but the water was even higher on the way back and the only way was to wade across! The Starbucks in question was only a mile or two from a client's front door near Maidstone, and not sure there's a 99p shop quite so close. Plus, I do rather enjoy a grande caramel machiato! If you have a sweet tooth, you should try one. It's near heaven!
Auntie vic 4 walks in 4 days ark at you! What I do and this may come in handy for the future is if it's raining I drive. I fear this is why Alex didn't invite me to join her little holiday. She's a little menace isn't she I love her blog and our new blog community cheers for the update. Alex if you come home Spanish will you make me an omelette? Xx
Paul Not sure they've designed a vehicle that will safely navigate the rocky ridges of Beinn Eighe yet, but I'll bear your advice in mind, Auntie Vic!
