After hiring a couple of snorkels and fins in Puerto Ayora, we returned to Las Grietas to swim with some more fish. Unfortunately we had left it a tad late in the morning and there were already a large number of tour groups swimming (and teaching others how to swim in life jackets) making noise and scaring all of the wildlife away. So instead of leaving, we jumped in and swam to the other end of the canyon. We found that by climbing over the wall of rocks, there was a shallower section with a massive school of fish - really big fish. It was like swimming in an aquarium! We hung around for a while, visited the entire swim-able section of the canyon, walked up the trail overlooking the canyon and ate our croissants for breakfast.
Back in Puerto Ayora, we walked around twon for the remainder of the day. We bought tshirts for Jeremy's family at the Tatoo Adventure store, had iced coffees at the OMG! cafe where we stole wifi and uploaded photos to the interwebs, and I bought a ring from the same Galapagos Jewelley store that we bought Bron's turtle pendent from.
We finished the day, and the trip at the "La Giardina", the nice restaurant we found a couple of nights ago. Jeremy was keen for a lobster, but since they are out of season settled for a spaghetti marinara (lots and lots of seafood included, too), and I a veg sandwich.
