I've had a lot of requests to set up a travel blog site so here is my very first attempt. Bear with me while I figure all this out. So....

As you know I'm leaving on a very exciting journey come 1 November 2013 and I hope to have you as my companions.

I hope through my tales and photographs you can feel the joy I feel from travelling. Perhaps, through my words and photos you will feel the sun on your face, the kindness of a person in a distant country, you'll understand the differences in our cultures and societies but most of all you'll also feel the excitement and awe of the many amazing sights, sounds and smells that I encounter.

I leave on this journey with a whole host of mixed emotions.
Excitement: for the adventures that lay ahead.
Sadness: at saying my goodbyes to the city I spent the last 12 years living in and to the good friends I've made along the way.
Happiness: at what awaits me at the end of my trip, my family and friends who I grew up with and a return to the country I was raised in.
Fear: of wondering if I've made the right decision.

I'm leaving my last 12 years behind me and starting over again. I have tossed and turned this decision over in my head for the last two years and my mind and heart keep wandering back to Canada so.....

....Close my eyes, jump in with both feet.....
