Hello hello hello!
Another blog from fiji, here we go....
So I've just spent another week on the yasawa islands, firstly we went to Beachcomber which is the 'party island.' It was really fun, we arrived at 5pm in the eveing on sunday and left at 9am monday so didnt get to see a lot of the island... Nevertheless, had a whail of a time with Joey and alessandro, a couple of dutch guys we met.
Next day we had a very rocky boat ride over to waya lailai (our second time on the island) - we were pretty hungover and haines had to hold her breath on the boat to stop herself from being sick - hilarious to warch. On waya lailai we mostly just chilled out in the hammocks on the beach, met some really lovely people and I went snorkelling with reek sharks. It was amazing - I actually got to stroke one of the sharks!
After waya lailai we went up to coral view, it was such a lovely place and we met up with jack, will, suzy, kayleigh and megan again (from south sea island last week).
Had the best time there, me haines and will went snorkelling as soon as we got there and found some blue starfish - I thought they were octupus at first haha! That night we played some games (pretty violent ones i might add) and met superhands, jo and pete, had such a good night! I just chilled out the rest of the time on coral view, except the evening bula dance which was great. I was so sad to be leaving coral view...
We decided to stay at smugglers cove back on the main island but when we arrived after a 5 and a half hour ferry ride and a half an hour coach ride they told us they didnt have any spare beds so we had to go to the hostel over the road. All they had left was a damp double bed that haines and i had to share so we had to take it - we were too angry, tired and hungry to try and find anything else. We met jo from coral view again at the hostel though which definitely cheered us up - she is absolutely off her head haha.
We decided to spend our last night in fiji back in nadi bay, where we had stayed last week with nat and abbie. Last night we bought a bottle of vodka and decided to make the most of our last night in fiji. A few drunken skype calls were made too (sorry about that slacky if you're reading this - and apologies to john too). Then at 12am we decided to jump in the swimming pool for a midnight dip which was hilarious - especially when the security guard kept coming over and telling us that we had to get out - needless to say we ignored him.
So that leads us up to now. It's 1.30pm and we will be leaving at 3pm to catch a flight over to Christchurch. We are both so sad to be leaving fiji, I've had the absolute time of my life here and definitely intend on returning some day.
Its time to get excited for the next stop now though,
New Zealand here we come..................
