(Sophie) - We walked to an area of Vancouver called Gastown and ate a delicious cranberry and orange muffin with a strawberry and banana smoothie - the best way to start the day!
In Gastown there is a steam clock that is run by steam. Every 15 minutes it lets off steam and plays music! The music is the same as Brownie Bells which we sing when we say goodbye at Brownies. Look at the video.
We then had a friendly lady pick us up and take us to Horseshoe Bay where we were going on a sea safari with Sewells Marina. We had to wear special suits to keep warm and keep us floating if we fell in the water, but the suits were incredibly big especially for Belle who looked very cute.
We jumped into the speed boat and it took us out to see. It was really fast. At one point Daniel the driver asked us if we were hungry and would we like a doughnut. Everyone shouted yes and he then drove around in tight circles with the boat on its side nearly tipping the boat over - that was EPIC! He slowed down so we could see the harbour seals, bald eagles, sea caves, posh houses and the Lions (mountain peaks). We saw a house on an island that the owners could only get into through a small tunnel carved in the rock.
(Belle) - For breakfast I had a yummy, scrumptious cranberry and orange muffin - it was huge!
Today we went in a speed boat to see wildlife. We had to get into these bright orange suits so if you fall out of the boat you would float. They were very comfy but I struggled to get into it as it was a lot bigger than me. We saw seals, and a bald bird. The boat when so fast that sometimes it jumped out of the water and flew. I felt sea sick at that point but Sophie was laughing and smiling all the time. My favourite bit was the doughnuts. Mummy had to hold on to me!
For dinner we went to the Old Spaghetti Factory which had a tram in the middle of it that you could eat in. They gave us ice cream after the meal which was included. It was called Spumoni and I didn't like it as it tasted like alcohol so mummy had three bowls!
After we took a lift up a very tall tower called the Vancouver Lookout. I had a stool so I could see over the wall and look at the view of Vancouver. I had an i-spy sheet to do on which we had to spot buildings and write down the name of them which was quite tricky. I won a certificate and a badge. We then watched the sun set over the mountains which was very pretty.

Derrick Courtney Dorothy was waiting to see if you would write about the steam clock as we saw it in 2000. I went for a flight in a floatplane when we were in Vancouver. We are so pleased you all are having a great time and really enjoy reading your expert blog. Everything at this end is fine. Don't let Daddy work too hard!!!
Auntie Jane This all sounds very exciting! I think I might have felt a bit seasick in a boat doing donuts but it still sounds great fun. Gum head sounds truly horrible. I think York should have one.Have you been drawing lots of pictures too? Lots of love
Sophie and Belle Hi Auntie Jane - No we haven't had time to draw pictures, we have been having too much fun. xxx
Sophie & Belle Hi Derrick. We saw the floatplanes taking off and landing - they were really loud. xx
Belle Hi Alex. The ice cream did taste of alcohol to me but mummy says it was actually cherry. Hope to see you soon xxx
