Tuesday 3rd April:
We had a nice relaxing day today, went food shopping wth our roomate Christt and bought food for the 3 of us for a few days which was nice and cheap as we could split the bill between 3 of us! In the afternoon we walked down to Sunshine beach which was lovely and did a bit of sun bathing. In the evening we went for e few drinks at Koala bar but didn't stay for long as wasn't very busy and there was a very strange guy in there who kept thrusting his hips toward Soph in an attempt......a poor attempt......to seduce her onto the dance floor. Needless to say she was not convinced and made a quick exit!
Wednesday 4th April:
We spent the morning at the beach again today to soak up some sun and decided to go for a walk in the national park in the afternoon. We chose the Noosa Hill walk through the forest, we set off about 4 in the afternoon and being the sensible girls we are it didn't occur to us that the sun goes down about half 5 and the walk was supposed to last about an hour to an hour and a half and that might cause a slight problem. So off we went all cheery with our cameras taking lovevly pictures of the interesting trees and views of the beach, it was only an hour in that we realised it was getting a bit dark and we were nowhere near the end of the walk. Christt and Em were up ahead saying that we should maybe start to pick up the pace a bit so we get out before the sun completely goes down - unfortunately our pace wasn't quite fast enough and we were still there when it turned completely pitch black. Suddenly our speed quickened and before we knew it we were sprinting through dense forest, no idea where we were with all the animal noises you could imagine coming from every direction. Our adrenaline kept us going for about 2k before Christt yelled out a high pitched scream as she thought a lizard had crawled over her foot, Em at the front thought it was an animal coming to attack such as a dingo and Soph behind was frightened to go any further in case the creature was still there lurking around. We should also mention that mid - sprint Christt still managd to stop to take a picture of a tree she thought was attractive! Luckily, the scream was heard by two fellow walkers just round the corner and we heard a guy yell if we were ok. But in true horror story style everyone worried it was an axe murderer out in the woods, however, as we turned the corner we discovered two lovely young guys who would forever be our heroes. We explained the reason we were beetroot red and dripping with sweat and they said they thought the scream was an animal and laughed (mainly because the exit was about 2 yards away).
The story has a happy ending at last, we got out fine and headed back home for a much needed dinner. Â
