This morning we are in Montecito (near Santa Barbara) after having a big drive through the desert from Las Vegas yesterday. I am catching up on my blog now while I am waiting for my lunch. We missed breakfast this morning because we slept in.

We went into a casino near ours called the Venetian. Hugo, Olivia and I had a ride on a gondola. The Casino has a fake canal in it and looks like Venice. The gondola had a "cheat" engine in it. The person who pilots the gondola is called a gondolier. He said "Welcome to Las Venice" to us. He sang songs loudly to us and it was very embarassing because people were taking photos of us.

The gondolier told us that the symbol of Venice was a winged lion. There were statues and pictures of winged lions everywhere and we had to spot them while we were on the gondola. I spotted the biggest one.
