Soongies' Great Adventure
Today we all headed over to Chester. It was quite frosty this morning - Auntie Fiona demonstrated her ice scraping tool on her windowscreen. Barnaby, the amazing poodle, came too! He got a seat in the middle back seat between Amy and Calvin. Amy was leaving from the Chester train station at about 12:00 so we spent a bit of time wandering around Chester before having to say our farewells to Amy. After Fiona and Kate dropped Amy off they met the boys in the shopping area and then got some lunch - Calvin, Kate and Andrew shared a tasting plate which combined deliciousnesses like goats cheese and mac balls, maple battered onion rings and lamb samosas! We wandered around the shops a bit more and then wandered some more along the Chester walls, through some beautiful gardens and by the River Dee. It was the real England that everyone would visualise! After lots of wandering / looking at shops (Barnaby, the dog, was able to come into most of the shops) we decided to get something to eat at a restaurant called 'The Architect' - problem was Barnaby was only allowed on the top level which had no spare tables so we took a raincheck on that idea and walked back to the car instead and came home via an M&S visit to get a few extra supplies to complement Christmas leftovers for dinner! Christmas leftover dinners really are the best! After dinner we played a family board game of Sherlock Holmes and then we all watched the movie, Side Effects.
