Soongies' Great Adventure
Our drive today took us from Lucerne down through the Swiss Italian border into the Como and out east to Lecco. The 3 hour drive was most expertly driven by Kate who followed the navigation without any wrong turns at all and getting us to our Lecco Airbnb at exactly 12:30 pm on the dot. Our Airbnb host had told us we needed to be there on time as she had other commitments but she actually turned up 15 minutes late! We settled in and then headed out to explore Lecco. There really isn't much to Lecco. It's on the southeast arm of Lake Como which is apparently not the most happening arm of the lake. We found some lunch (pizza!) at Cafe Bohemia which filled us up. Kate had pizza with Brie and crudo prosciutto and Calvin had bresaola and mushroom. We strolled alongside the lake to circle back to the apartment with Kate carrying half of her pizza in a large pizza box as leftovers. Calvin went off to the supermarket to get some dinner foods while Kate sorted out her shoes. Gnocchi (hand made according to the packet) with mushrooms and spinach in a tomato sauce was delicious! Then we finally broke out the Backpacker card game that Andrew and Catherine had gotten us for Christmas and played a few games to figure it all out!

kentishclan I hope you ate them with the knife and fork... that's proper etiquette in Italy you know. Don't be an Aussie slob and pick up the slices with your hands!
kentishclan Lake Como... you are in proper 'cha ching' (*cash register sound) now!. We found that part of Italy one of the most expensive places we visited.
