Buenos Aires vs Córdoba
Córdoba, Argentina
Yess almost eight months on my way and there it is blackonwhite a Blog from Sonja ! So people enjoy because you will never know if the first one will also be the last one..
After five months of studying in Buenos Aires, two months of traveling in Peru, Bolivia and Chile am I now enjoying my time in Córdoba. And with a clear objective; also experience a different city in Argentina than only the most popular destination: European-orientated-Buenos Aires. But actually we can wonder whether there are really clear differences between these cities.
Because actually I'm just living in the same situation as in Holland where I as daredevil Frisian girl had the guts to discover the world and immigrate to Groningen with all the upcoming consequences.. because like we all know Groningen and Friesland are just the same (except from the fact that people born in friesland are just more beautiful), they are just both provinces which are far behind on civilisation compared to rest of Holland. (Although Limburg and Brabant also missed something, especially linguistically..)And now I am doing it again, according to the Porteños (Buenos Aires) I absolutely lost my mind to voluntarily leave civilisation and move to Córdoba. And by saying this I don't want to claim that Buenos Aires and Cordoba are behind on development as well noo, the thing is that similarity makes fight, and dissimilarity as well andandand.. like dear mister George Walker B. would say; there is always a reason to start a war.
And nowadays we are talking about the world being one global village, all whatsapping with our BlackBerry's, all drinking the same Coca Cola, all daily checking our Facebook, all listing to the same Ipod with the same music, all swooning away with Mc Dreamy etcetc and even by keeping this in mind people within the borders of one country still think that they are sooooo different. Whereas the Porteños think that the end of Argentina is the same as the end of the Autopista de Buenos Aires (and los Malvinos ofcourse) do Cordobes in their turn claim that Porteños are arrogant and short-sighted. And yeah what can I say about this, still being a down-to-earth Frisian girl; indeed absolutely nothing. Maybe it is even already too late for me to give an objective opinion. Too late, because I'm already fallen in love with this country; and love makes blind. So for me, whether I walk on the streets in Buenos Aires or eat my lunch in one of the parks in Cordoba, I don't care all the people, the whole country, the atmosphere it doesn't matter: ya estoy enamorado.
