SINGAPOREWe landed in Singapore late at night and being the true travellers we are now we hadnt booked anywhere to stay so the 2 of us and Robbie,our newly acquired friend from the flight jumped in a cab and told him to take us to a cheap place. O it was cheap alright..we were told it had ac,when we had to peel ourselves off our plastic sheets the next morning we were all pretty sure the ac was not working so we decided to move to another hostel!After dragging round our bags for a little while we found a hostel in Little India which was really nice..We dumped our bags there and decided to make a trip over to Sentosa Island..This is the wierdest place ever! You have to get a cable car over to it and Its full of the most random stuff! Theres a merlion (a giant lion with a mermaids tail),a pink dolphin show, the most southern point of Asia..its very Alice in Wonderalnd style! We had a good day there though!That night we went for dinner on the river which was beautiful.. After in a bar we met a lonely ozzie business man who insisted on paying for all 3 of our drinks all night..we didnt complain!The next day we decided to go to Chinatown and checkout some of the temples..This didnt turn out quite as planned as when we arrived it POURED with rain! Alice's flip flops didnt have any grip at all and so she was clinging on to Soph for dear life, skating around the pavement! haha! After the weather and getting shouted at by an Arab we gave up! That night we went to Raffles Hotel for a Singapore Sling..mmm mmm! Its now our dream to stay there! its amazing! Alice and Robbie were both horrified when Soph slipped her glass into her bag..You taught me well Mutti!!On our last day we went to the Boatnic Gardens..these were lovers until it started to pour again! we decided to hit the shops on orchard road for a while, however it was just window shopping as it was like Knightsbridge and far too expensive for some little old backpackers! After this we had to get the train to the airport and get ready to fly to Thailand! We'd heard mixed opinions of Singapore but we really liked it! Its sooo clean! We'll have to go back when we're minted!!! :)
