Soph And Alice Take On The World!
SYDNEY
Sydney is a pretty cool place but expensive!! We were hoping to be able to stay in Allie and Leah's appartment but unfortunately their land lord is very strict on having guests so it wasn't possible. The first night we met up with the girls and chilled in their flat..it was so nice to just sit in a sofa and watch a film without a million other people in the room! Funny the things you miss!
We got the ferry over to Manly on our first full day there, got some good views of the opera house and harbour bridge..very impressive! we watched Allie and Leah do a shark dive in the aquarium over there which was hilarious! Manly is a lovely place..quite a quiet little town compared to the city where we were staying.
After a couple of days of being there trouble arrived..Nadia and Aislinn! Turns out we're all doing the oz experience so we're going to do the east coast together, can't wait! We were in Sydney over Easter weekend but, being travellers we forgot that it was easter and so didnt pre book any accomodation! We got thrown out of our hostel on good Friday and had to walk the streets trying to find somewhere to stay! We found one hostel which was the dodgiest place around, we walked in and walked straight back out again! we wouldn't of stayed there if you'd paid us!!
Luckily just as we were about to give up we found a dodgy looking hotel which was cheaper than a hostel, we managed to book a double room for the night, it was horrible but luckily our friend managed to pull a few strings at another hostel and get us in there the next day so it was only for one night!
We met up with Carl Cerny and Jon Dickens, friends from Westcliff, in Sydney which was cool, its becomming quite the essex reunion! Had a few good nights out in Kings Cross with them.
Our best day in Sydney by far was the day we spent on a yacht! Our friend we met in Melbourne works on the yachts in and text us one morning asking if we wanted to go sailing with him! of course we couldnt say no and so we were told to wear light clothes as we were going to be in a photoshoot! We spent the day cruising around Sydney Harbour on a $1000000 yacht with a camera crew circling us! Soph was driving the boat while the others were helping to pull up the sails! A speed boat full of boys pulled up to the camera crew and asked 'Who are they?!' Thinking we were famous! haha!
When the filming and pictures were all done we sat and watched the sunset and sailed past the opera house and bridge all lit up, it was one of the most amazing things we've ever done!! Afterwards we were taken out for dinner and driven back to our hostel in his Porsche! Talk about flash packing!
