Hi I have come to India to be involved in vountary work. My placement is in Santinetikan. India is so different to bac k home in the U.K, and once you get off the plane, you relaise the extent of povety in the area. The roads are really busy, no one seems to care for rules for driving, but many travel by bike. The people are very nice in India and helpful. OUr coordinator Chadana is a really lovely women nad has welcomed me and the other four girls here really well. As before we were very nervous as were not sure what to expect. Today I visited the school I will be helping to teach English in. The children there were so excited to see us, and so happy. Their clothes were torn and they were from very poor familys in the area. But you can see that thw work that goes on through i-to-i here makes such big difference to these childrens lives. tomorrow we starting our placement, and will start teaching.
