WILLENHALL Town have named former Alve-church boss Shaun Cunnington as their new manager.
Cunnington quit Church at the end of this season looking to pit his wits at a higher level.
The former Albion player has not had to wait long for his chance.
However, Cunnington will find himself entering new territory with Willenhall being switched from the BGB Southern Midland Duivision to compete in Unibond One South next term.
He said: "I'm excited by the prospect of taking over at Willenhall and the fact we're going north shouldn't be a problem.
"I'm fairly familiar with places like Spalding, Goole and Brigg Town from my time at Grimsby but I'll be getting in touch with a few managers all the same."
Cunnington will take his Alvechurch assistant, Paul Tomlinson, with him to Willenhall and has not ruled out the possibility of several players following him. One obvious target will be midfield man Lee Chilton, who has been courted by a number of higher level clubs.
Chilton has already had a short spell with AFC Telford and also attracted interest from Blue Square North rivals Hinckley United who made an offer for Chilton last season, which was rejected by Alvechurch.
