"Discontent is a bad thing only when it takes the form of discouragement, cynicism, or despair… A wholesome discontent with dullness, failure, and frustration that is your incentive (is good)… without it you would never find your true place" Emmet Fox
Many of you have asked what precipitated this radical change in our lives. It began with a mammogram recall and the unanswerable question, what if?
During the "wait" of the ultrasound results, many questions went through our minds. The crucial conversation came one night, snuggled in my safest place. I asked Tim what he would do if the results were positive.
"That would change everything."He assured me.
"Why," I asked, "do we wait for tragedy before we change?"
"So what would you do if you knew you only had one year to live?" we asked each other… and the dream began.
The results came back negative, but the dream was already alive and the decision NOT to wait for tragedy had already been made.Like the birth of a child, we are in the last trimester - anticipation, panic, excitement, worry, expectancy, hope - only this time I don't have to do the delivery all by myself!
Our discontent has very little to do with despair or dullness, or the fresh blanket of snow today! It is born out of love, for the purpose of love - because we can - because we are so blessed.
